Grand Cayman Shore Excursions

Our driver/guide “Reds” gave us a great overview of Grand Cayman, with interesting comments on the history, lifestyle, and culture. Exactly what we were after - a 3-hour tour for first time visitors.

Tour B: East Side Highlights Recommend this excursion at the beginning of your trip to get the lay of the land. Dennis aka Smitty (nickname) was a lively host and he was able to coax this scaredy cat to handle the starfish like a pro!

Amazing bus tour! We booked a private bus tour to take us around for a few hours in the night to enjoy the island's nightlife. Our tour guide was Dennis, he is very knowledgeable and friendly. Will Definitely do it again.

We did a tour with Dennis. From the second we got in the air conditioned van, he had us laughing. We laughed the whole time! He was more like an old friend d than a tour guide. He took us to Hell, Rum and rum cake tastings, turtle conservation farm, joking, taking photos all along. We highly recommend this tour with Dennis. (The Governor).

I had an amazing time in the Cayman in a Nutshell tour! From the point that Mr. Tim, a.k.a. Reds, picked me up from my hotel to the very end, it was an amazing time. Mr. Red is very knowledgeable about the history and day-to-day affairs of the Grand Cayman Island. Everyone at the Hell road gift shop and area were accommodating and polite. The turtle farm was very fun, and there were lots to explore. Ada was orienting with Mr. Reds, but she helped me a lot. Thanks Ada!! My favorite portion was the snorkeling and stingrays. Charlie, Polo, Eric, and Jordan were amazing hosts. I could not have asked for a better experience! Polo exceeded my expectations! Personal thanks Polo!!! I will forever be grateful! Thanks guys for being my “local family!” Recommendation—if you’re able to reach the tour people via phone or email, Facebook messenger worked PERFECTLY.

The Catamaran was awesome. Nice snack and drinks. Great Staff. The crowd was mixed with young and old so it was very nice. Went for sunset cruise and it was breathtaking to say the least and very relaxing.

We are a family of 5 with the youngest being 17 and the oldest being 59. All of us really enjoyed the tour. The shop is very easy to get to from the cruise ship port (right across the street). Our tour guide, Dennis, was great and very engaging. The trip to Hell was interesting but more for the pictures and to say you were there than it being a real spectacle. The turtle farm was very interesting and Dennis brought us around; he clearly knew the place very well. We got to hold some of the younger turtles and touch some of the older ones. The lunch we ate on the bus on the way to the boat was nothing to write home about but it was fine. The stingrays were everyone's favorite part of the day and, for some of us, it was our favorite part of the whole trip. The guides gave us squid to feed to the VERY friendly stingrays and we didn't see any other groups given the squid. The food made them more interested in being around us and, therefore, allowed us to interact with them more. It was great because it was in the middle of the ocean and not in an enclosure. The snorkeling was okay but not anything spectacular. We got back in a timely fashion without feeling rushed and were not worried about missing our trip. Thank you to Dennis and everyone at Captain Marvin's for such an amazing experience!

This is a great way to see some of the highlights of Grand Cayman on one tour. My wife and I took this tour and made a brief stop in Hell for some pictures and then went on to the Turtle Farm. The Turtle Farm is a very interesting operation! You can see the pond and beach where the adults breed and mama digs a hole and burys the eggs. There are also smaller ponds for young turtles where you can pick up a turtle! My wife got to see one of the workers bring a bucket of turtle eggs back to the hatchery! After we left there, we went to Captain Marvins and got on a boat for a trip out to Stingray City! What fun that was! You were in the water with these really big rays and they would swim up to you and rub against you looking for food. The guides are really good at explaining what to do and how to act while in the water with the rays. The guides also had cut up squid and showed us how to feed them. When we left there we stopped for snorkeling. The water was crystal clear and the coral reef was very pretty. There were lots of colorful fish and many different species. It was very enjoyable. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and recommend it!

We could not believe that it took us so long to discover Grand Cayman. It is such a beautiful island. The locals are so friendly and trustworthy, except at the car rentals. Do not compare on price only. Look at the bottom line and make certain you are checking out the insurance requirements very carefully. Some agencies mandate it and that will double your cost. Dollar/Thrifty is very reasonable and their staff very accomodating. Car rented - ready for adventure. Two ways to do it. The hussle and bustle of the 7 Mile beach area with great restaurants, bars, attractions etc OR the quieter East End. Or the best of both worlds split your holiday and do both. So much to see and experience. Definitely an island that is tops on the list and one to return to many times

I traveled there a lot in the 1980s, went back in 1995, and more recently last week. It's beautiful, easy to get to from Houston or Dallas (where I've traveled from), and although there are many more hotels and properties on Seven Mile Beach than there were years ago, it is still relatively calm without huge high-rises and a beach that is not over crowded. Great for a family vacation or couples trip and many great restaurants and places to stay to choose from.
